You know your mistakes and what you did not do for the past year, so youhomer-mistakes can start from there. Learn from the mistakes and try to fix it for the next year. If you did not save as much as you wanted last year, try saving a bit more this year. Everyone makes mistakes and the only way to learn; is to learn from them. If you wasted money on something you found to be worthless, then don’t spend it on something like that this coming year. In essence, look at your past and think of what you want to improve on. Once you know what you want to do financially, write them down. Your next step is to pick out the three major ones you want to work on. If you have twenty items on your list, you will not get any of it done. The fewer tasks you focus on, the more improvements you will see in each. Many people lose interest in following their resolutions because they are overwhelmed with the huge list they have built up. Create an action plan; which you will be following. An action plan describes what you will be doing in order to achieve your goal. If your goal is to save sixty thousands dollars this year, your action plan would be to save five thousands dollars every month.

Lastly, write a final copy of the resolutions and put it somewhere visible. You should be bale to see it everyday, which will remind you of your goal. If you put it away in your drawer, you might as well just forget about your goal.
