new-years-resolutions-4New Years is approaching us quite rapidly, and it’s going to be that time of year again, when we make our new years resolutions. For many people it is a big decision process because they take it very seriously. This is time of year when you choose some goals you want to set, or even make a difference in your life. Has there been something in your life that you wanted to change? If so, you can add it on your new year’s resolutions list this year. For many people, making new years resolutions is not the tough part, achieving them is the tough part. If you were looking for advice, people would give you the regular information. You know the drill, make a list and try sticking to them. Well, we have evolved over time and it does not work like that any more. Our lives are way too busy to stop and think about it everyday. In the article we will be going through some of the tips that will help you to make your resolutions, as well as, how to stick with them. A recent study indicates most of the people who make resolutions do not actually stick with them. They will follow their list for the first few weeks, but forget about it later on.

Before you begin with a pen and paper there are some things you should think over. Think about your major goals for the year. These goals do not have to be something you want, it could be something that is being reflected on you. The reflected goals are ones that are give to you from someone else, such as a loved one. Always begin with the major goals you want in your resolutions list. Take note of them on a piece of paper. Now, these are goals which you want to achieve, so write them down in the first person tense. You should begin each goal with “I” because, it gives it more value. When makingruler these goals, they should not be something impossible, keep it reasonable and measurable. Reasonable meaning, it should not be some out of the ordinary, which has never been done. By measurable, we mean that the goal should be weighed or counted. If you are able to put a number to it, it will help you along the way to see your progress. Write down anything that comes to mind, which is associated with your resolution. If you want to quit smoking, then write why you want and how you will do it. The end result is the most important in setting a goal. Next, focus on some of the medium level goals, which are not too small or too big. These should be though out as well because usually there are tons of these. Putting a date to each goal, or each category will help you achieve them more efficiently. Although, the dates might be a little off, you can always go back and fix them to your liking. Every time you complete one of your tasks on the list, you should reward yourself. Maybe get treated at a spa, or get a massage for the hard work. Rewarding yourself will make anyone feel much better.
